and Argument

A 3D animate narration of prosecution points in a murder trial in a QuickTime movie.

Alibi…A 3D Crime Narrative

This 3D animation visualizes events surrounding charges of his wife’ murder against Dr. Richard Illes as established and used at trial; the doctor’s alibi defense failed. Harmonising widely varied forensic and public sources, the visuals helped keep the focus on the core narrative: “What really happened.”

A 3D animated explanation of how engine lubrication works in a QuickTime movie.

3D Engine Lubrication

This “How It Works” 3D animation enjoys ongoing use by the client, an aircraft engine manufacturer frequently forced to defend against highly imaginative plaintiff-side theories. By revealing how engines are lubricated, this animation with hard evidence from particular aviation accidents, forces blame back where it—sadly—too often belongs: a lack of maintenance.

We craft visuals to illustrate testimony, stand as demonstrative evidence, or support argument in litigation. We harmonise and integrate input from your experts and witnesses, crafting pointed, understandable and coherent narratives. We can present our visibility analyses and scene recreations as experts in support of the conclusions shown by the visualizations.

We analyze, reconstruct, and clarify scenes (e.g. accidents, crimes), processes, intellectual property issues, and narratives using 3D or Flash animation-or the venerable court board-so you may put your essential points across most memorably.

Steven Lubet, in Modern Trial Advocacy regarding demonstrative evidence, "a creative task":

"The attorney must constantly ask, how can I make this testimony more concrete? Or, how can I help the jury visualize this point? Or, is there a way to accentuate the relationship between these two ideas? The answer will often be found in the development of demonstrative evidence."

Our visualizations have met with success in a variety of matters:

Homicide 'One' (prosecution, see "alibi" above)

Manufacturer (corporate defense, see "3D Engine" above)

Attempted Homicide (criminal defense)

Possession with Intent (Fed. Public Defender)

Medical malpractice (civil plaintiffs)
